Ricci
– Piedmont, Italy
Nestled amid the Colli Tortonesi hills, Tortona stretches from the Barolo region to Genoa. In the late 1970s, a determined group of winemakers, led by Walter Massa, reintroduced an almost extinct grape variety here: Timorasso. Unlike the relatively straightforward Cortese, Timorasso displays remarkable aging potential in both barrel and bottle.
Guided by an organic and natural winemaking philosophy, Daniele Ricci has emerged as a leading producer of exceptional Timorasso wines. Employing indigenous yeasts, he crafts all-natural orange wines with minimal sulfite additions only when necessary.
As a self-taught winemaker with unconventional perspectives, Daniele Ricci allows some of his wines to age extensively in barrel, tank, and amphoras before releasing them to the market. Ricci’s wines boast a wide spectrum of flavors and aromas.
