Dutch grains for a sustainable and circular “grain chain”
Jan and Anne de Vries are farmers and founders of Graanbroeders (Grain Brothers) in Harich. Their mission is simple: grow nutritious and tasty food for the region. Healthy, circular grain that’s born from soil, free of artificial fertilizers and pesticides is what they offer. Nice side effect of grain that’s good for the planet, is that it’s also better tasting
Together with farmers, bakers, restaurants and residents, they are building a sustainable and circular “grain chain”. From their grain center, they process their grains themselves on an artisanal millstone before selling it to the local businesses.
Showing the example, the Graanbroeders are hoping that more farmers will follow their lead. Together for now and the future!
