Wijntuin Ronja
Wijntuin Ronja is a cooperative and regenerative vineyard run jointly by its wine farmers. Anyone can become a wine farmer at Wijntuin Ronja by leasing 10 grape vines for one harvest season. By being a wine farmers, wou will learn all the intricacies of the trade in workshops given by experts. Wine farmers are expected to bring these lessons in practice by working on the land at least 3 days per year. At the end of the season, wine farmers receive their selfmade bottles of wine.
Learning is Wijntuin’s top priority, and every year they organize several workshops in which their winefarmers learn the most important steps of grape cultivation. Through this training course they try to build a bridge between the consumer and the producer; consumers become producers!
Wijntuin Ronja is sustainable on ecological, social and financial levels. They work with new grape varieties that can also be cultivated organically in our climated. In addition, they do not use any pesticides, including those allowed under organic farming. How they do this? By implementing many experiments and measuring the results. This also makes the Wijntuin a place to learn about nature in collaboration with others, making the wine farmers part of the entire process.
You can be part of the Wijntuin, and become a wine farmer yourself! Come and meet the members on November 18th at the Green is Golden market!
