Amaracmand
– Emilia Romagna, Italy
Founded in 2013 by Marco Vianello and Tiziana Matteucci, Amaracmand is nestled in the hills of Sorrivoli, near the Adriatic Riviera. Their 14 hectares of vineyards are rooted in the soils of the Apennines, composed of sand, clay, and tuff rock sediments.
Driven by a mission to restore the legacy of Romagna wines, Marco and Tiziana took on the challenge of reviving an abandoned historical farm that once sustained the local community in the 19th century. Yet now the farm features a modern, energy-autonomous winemaking cellar, with sustainability at its core – from reusing stalks to stabilize the soil to recovering rainwater for vineyard irrigation.
Their philosophy is simple: “We can’t always guarantee that the color will be ruby red—ours is a natural wine. We can’t guarantee that there will be no sediment at the bottom of the bottle—ours is a natural wine. What we can guarantee is that there are no added sulfites or allergens—ours is a natural wine.”
Among their standout creations is Madame Titì, a Brut Nature sparkling wine made from 85% Bombino Bianco, balanced with Grechetto, Albana, and Trebbiano. With its lively, youthful profile and soft, generous foam, it’s a true pleasure to drink.
Imperfetto 2022, crafted from Sangiovese grapes, undergoes short maceration and matures in both steel and tonneaux barrels. The result is a well-balanced wine with a vibrant fruit profile and controlled tannins, making it approachable and elegant.
