Workshops & experiences Natual Wine Festival Amserdam

Level: Beginner, Enthusiast & Professional
Time : 15:30-16:15

Let your imagination be sparked by the Poetic Tasting, an intense tasting experience with a meaningful aftertaste—shared in good company. This edition revolves around the theme of balance.

Good wine is all about balance. A harmonious blend of flavors and aromas creates a wine that’s neither too acidic, sweet, nor bitter. From

the very beginning, in the vineyard, the winemaker seeks balanced conditions for healthy grape growth. Achieving this requires not only expertise but also a sensitivity to the dynamics of the vineyard’s living ecosystem. This balance shifts with the seasons, each year bringing its own rhythm.

As the harvest season ends, it’s time for reflection. What words are you harvesting today? How do you take stock for winter? Through a poetic exercise, let the wine stimulate your senses and imagination. The result? You taste more deeply and speak more freely about the wine. The session concludes with a poem inspired by the workshop, crafted by the poet. The Poetic Tasting is hosted by:

Casper Vuurmans, sommelier and philosopher. With degrees in history and philosophy, Casper has worked in renowned restaurants around Amsterdam for nearly 20 years. Since 2016, he hosts the monthly Philosophical Dinner, exploring philosophical ideas through food and wine.

Lonneke van Heugten, poet. Known for her love of disruption, Lonneke works across spoken word, theater, and film. As the city poet of Alkmaar, she brings her motto “poetry must be seen” to life through performances, workshops, and events. She is also the voice of the punk band GALM, with an EP and video series releasing this year.
