Nils Bugge imports Italian wines through BeVino. Artisan wines from family-run estates, or as they say in Italy, viticoltori artigianali. Wines that are made with minimal intervention. Many of ‘his’ wines have no or low sulfites and qualify as natural wines. Some don’t.
Nils thinks the sulfite debate has become a bit of a distraction when it comes to understanding wine and likes to illustrate this with Domain Marcel Lapierre, who make their Morgon Beaujolais in two versions: one with minimal added sulfites (marked with an “S”) and one without (marked “Sans sulfite ajouté” with an “N”). Same vintage, same winemaker, the difference is sulfites. Both wines will cater to different palates. Both wines are made by means of organic and biodynamic agriculture with minimal intervention.
In this workshop, Nils takes you through a blind tasting. Wines with added sulfites and wines without. Can you taste the difference? Which do you prefer? Your palate will evolve the more you taste and what you love today might shift tomorrow. That’s the beauty of it. By understanding what you like, you’ll deepen your knowledge of wine on an experiential level.
Note: Workshops can be booked after purchasing your ticket. You will receive within 24 hours after booking your ticket a link to reserve a seat at the workshop you’d like to participate in.
